The building which houses Fasageo's has been a continuously running inn since the mid-1700's, The original log structure, which was valued by tax assayers in 1798 at $175, has been incorporated into the current structure. The original building extended from the green pillar in the dining room (note the rise in the floor) to approximately the beginning of the bar. Additions were added in the 19th century. Various owners have entertained customers here during the last two centuries. The first name for the establishment, The Bucks County Inn, was created by proprietor Jacob Cope in 1815.
By 1826, a new owner, Enos Schlicter, renamed his hotel and tavern The Bull's Head. The Schlicters, who owned the inn for most of the 19th century, were an important family in this area. The village here was originally named Schlicter. In 1826, Enos made an important donation of land across the current Ridge Road for the building of the New Jerusalem Church.
In recent decades, the establishment was known as the Almont Inn. Today, Fasageo's retains much of the historic charm which has greeted customers since the 1700's. While you enjoy your meal this evening, we hope you will also enjoy the historic ambiance which we have tried to maintain so that you may have a pleasant dining experience within these walls where so many have been entertained since colonial times.
